「終わりよければすべてよし」

50年前、生と死は、私たちの日常に当り前のようにありました。
ひとは自宅で生まれ、自宅で死んでいったのです。
病院での死が在宅での死を越えたのは1979年（昭和54年）、
わずか28年前のことです。

しかし、現在では80％以上（ガンに限れば93％以上）の人が
病院で死を迎えています。
病院で何本もの管を巻きつけたまま死ぬのはイヤ！
死を自分たちの手に取り戻したい！
そう考える人が年々増えてきています。

　そんな中、厚生労働省は、受け皿を整えないまま在宅での死をすすめるような方向に舵をきりました。これでは死亡難民も出かねない状態です。
　私たちは、どこで、どのように死んでいくのか…。選択の余地はあるのか…。
　今回、映画『終わりよければすべてよし』を素材に、在宅医療に先進的 取り組む桜井隆ドクターを迎えて、これらの問いに向き合ってみたいと思います。
